Meta Sued by Swedish Music Label for Hosting Unlicensed Tracks

Meta Platforms Inc.‘s Facebook and Instagram music libraries include hundreds of unlicensed tracks owned by Swedish music label and publisher Epidemic Sound AB, causing “massive scale” copyright infringement, a lawsuit filed in San Francisco federal court said.

Epidemic said it’s found more than 950 unauthorized music tracks in the libraries, which allow users to “download, stream, and synchronize” the tracks with video content on the platform, including Facebook “Stories” and Instagram “Reels” short-form video features.
