Meta, Google Near Deal With Reely Creator in App Removal Dispute

Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC have reached a settlement in principle with a Hong Kong company that sued them for taking its “Reely” app off the Google Play Store after it was accused of infringing trademarks for Meta’s Instagram.

Judge Edward J. Davila granted the parties’ request to continue the Oct. 10 status conference as they work toward a finalized agreement. He extended the conference to Nov. 7 in an order filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
