Meril Defeats Edwards Lifesciences’ Patent Lawsuit on Appeal

Indian medical device company Meril Inc. cemented its successful defense from rival artificial heart-valve maker Edwards Lifesciences Corp.'s patent infringement suit at the Federal Circuit.

Two of three judges on a panel for US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Monday agreed with a district court judge who granted Meril summary judgment that its Myval transcatheter heart-valve system doesn’t infringe Edwards’ patents.
