Mercedes, Honda Hit With Patent Suits for Driver Assistance Tech

Phelan Group LLC sued Mercedes-Benz Group AG and Honda Motor Co. Ltd. alleging their driver assistance and authentication systems infringed seven patents and a patent application.

Select Mercedes and Honda vehicles, including the 2019 GLC and 2022 Accord and Civic, are equipped with sensors that help drivers prevent collisions , according to the similar complaints filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas. Phelan argues that Mercedes and Honda’s auto-safety systems infringe their patents.
