Medtronic Hernia Mesh Patent Suit Ends as Hexagon Drops Case

Hexagon Health Inc. dropped its federal lawsuit that accused Medtronic Plc of copying patented hernia-mesh designs from its founder, who had disclosed them to the medical-device maker before a potential business collaboration crumbled.

Hexagon and its founder, surgeon and inventor Shirin Towfigh, voluntarily dismissed all claims before Medtronic responded to the complaint, closing the door on renewing them, according to a notice filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware.
