Medpace Accused of Misusing Competitor’s ‘Built for Biotech’ Mark

Clinical research and development company Medpace Inc. was sued in North Carolina federal court by competitor Premier Research International LLC for allegedly infringing its “Built for Biotech” trademark.

Medpace applied to register its own “Built for Biotech” mark shortly after attending trade shows where Premier Research used the same phrase to promote its services, the Nov. 19 complaint says.

Premier Research says it has been using “Built for Biotech” to promote its clinical trial and consulting services since 2017, and filed for a federal trademark registration in September.
