Medical Device Groups Appeal Loss in Copyright Repair Rule Case

Two medical device trade groups appealed the dismissal of their attempt to block a federal anti-hacking exemption which permits consumers to bypass encryption to repair the devices.

The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance and the Advanced Medical Technology Association asked the US Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to review District of D.C. Judge Beryl A. Howell’s decision to dismiss their challenge to the Library of Congress’ 2021 rule.
