Mattel Hit With Trademark Suit Over ‘Monster Jam’ Truck Toys

Mattel Inc. will have to face off against an old business partner that has accused the toy manufacturer of breaching their licensing contract and infringing its monster truck trademarks.

Feld Motor Sports Inc. and its predecessors in interest have operated live Monster Jam monster truck shows for more than 25 years, it said in its Dec. 26 complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Mattel’s license to manufacture, distribute, and promote Monster Jam toy trucks dates back to 1995 and is due to naturally expire at the end of 2018, FMS said. Mattel was ...
