Bristol Community College negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 56,000 students in connection with a December data breach, a new proposed federal class action alleges.
Robert Alexander Jr., David Vito, Michael Clancy, and Mario Canario alleged the college failed to implement reasonable security measures to protect their data or detect intrusions.
Bristol, located in Fall River, Mass., also failed to provide victims timely notice of the breach, according to the complaint filed May 26 in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
