Manufacturer Says Gosund Smart-Home Products Infringe Patents

Australian internet-of-things company Kortek Industries Pty alleged Shenzhen Gosund Technology Ltd. infringed five patents with Wi-Fi-enabled smart-home products.

Gosund and Cuco-Smart smart plugs, wall sockets, power strips, switches, LED strip lights and bulbs use methods protected by US Patent Nos. 9,465,377, 9,590,427, 10,862,313, 10,429,869 and 11,574,535, according to a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Kortek said Gosund willfully infringed its patents and is helping others to infringe by providing technical support to customers and encouraging them to buy the accused products. Kortek stated, for example, in claim ...
