Maker of Uggs Hits Costco, CVS With Slipper Trade Dress Suits

The seller of Uggs footwear, sued Costco Wholesale Corp. and CVS Pharmacy Inc. in federal court for selling slippers it says infringe its trade dress.

Deckers Outdoor Co. filed the separate complaints alleging sale of footwear mimicking the design of the Ugg Tasman model in US District Court for the Central District of California, suing CVS on Thursday and Costco on Friday. The accused models are Costco’s Kirkland Signature-branded Unisex Shearling Slipper and Wayland Square’s Mule Slippers sold in CVS outlets.
