Part of a Magnacross LLC wireless data transmission patent covers only an abstract idea, a North Texas federal judge ruled, while sanctioning the patent licensing company for recycling in its arguments irrelevant parts of an old brief.
The ruling came in a lawsuit Magnacross filed against OKI Data Americas Inc., alleging OKI desktop printers infringe U.S. Patent No. 6,917,304.
