Luka Doncic Drops Bid to Cancel Mom’s Trademark of His Own Name

NBA star Luka Doncic withdrew his bid to cancel a “Luka Doncic 7" trademark owned by his mother at the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

The TTAB noted Luka99 Inc.'s motion to withdraw his cancellation petition with prejudice Thursday and ended the proceeding. He had filed to withdraw the case Monday.

The end of the dispute denies the board a chance to potentially address a novel question: whether revoking consent to use one’s name in a trademark registration can lead to its cancellation.
