The company that acquired the intellectual property rights to the nearly 50-year-old Lowrider brand claims a “coordinated scheme” involving a series of car shows, events, and merchandise uses its trademarks without authorization.
Lowrider Ventures and its principal allege trademark counterfeiting and infringement, unfair competition, false advertising, cybersquatting, and common law violations, says the complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the District of Kansas.
The Lowrider brand “has been synonymous with lowrider automotive culture, events, and community throughout the United States” such as through its trademarked Lowrider Supershows, the company says.
