Duke Manufacturing Co. was temporarily blocked from selling a food storage and presentation device, after a Missouri federal judge found a smaller competitor was likely to win its patent infringement suit.
Judge Matthew Schelp in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri granted Low Temp Industries Inc.’s request for a preliminary injunction in a Friday order.
Low Temp’s patent relates to “hot-cold-freeze” technology for countertop food serving wells. The system is Low Temp’s flagship product and its “claim to fame,” Schelp said, is that it allows wells to quickly switch from hot to cold to frozen. ...
