Louis Vuitton Wins $30 Million Over Online Knock-Off Products

May 2, 2025, 6:20 PM UTC

A Florida federal court awarded Louis Vuitton Malletier $30.7 million after finding dozens of websites were selling counterfeits of the luxury brand’s products.

Judge Melissa Damian granted Louis Vuitton’s motion for entry of default final judgment in a case against at least 51 websites accused of infringing trademarks through the sale of counterfeits. Damian’s ruling blocks the websites from selling infringing products and transferred the domain names to Louis Vuitton’s control, according to the Thursday order filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

Louis Vuitton sued the websites in May 2024 and filed a motion for entry of default final judgment in September after the defendants failed to answer the complaint.

Louis Vuitton is represented by Stephen M. Gaffigan, P.A.

The case is Louis Vuitton Malletier v. Louisvuittonbagfactoryoutlet.Com, S.D. Fla., No. 24-cv-60898, order filed 5/1/25.
