L’Oréal, Vichy Hit With Patent Suit Over Anti-Wrinkle Products

GlycoBioSciences Inc. filed a lawsuit Monday against L’Oréal SA and its Vichy Laboratories SA, alleging that their cosmetics containing hyaluronic acid infringe two patents related to formulations for delivering sodium hyaluronate in a polymer matrix.

Glyco, based in Ontario, Canada, says it has had “brief communication” with L’Oréal and Vichy about the alleged infringement but the Clichy, France-based companies have declined its licensing offers, according to a complaint filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
