L’Oreal SA must continue defending claims that it copied parts of Metricolor LLC’s patented hair-dye delivery system in developing a competing line of products, the Central District of California said.
Metricolor’s amended complaint contained additional allegations that plausibly support its trade secret and breach of contract claims against L’Oreal, Judge Christina A. Snyder said Tuesday.
Metricolor owns U.S. Patent Nos. 9,301,587, and 10,017,318, covering methods for measuring and dispensing hair dye through syringes that minimize waste.
