Logo Breached Maersk’s Trademark, Danish Court Rules

A.P. Moller Maersk’s star trademark was infringed by a smaller shipping line, Denmark’s Maritime and Commercial Court ruled March 31 (AP Moller Maersk A/S v World Wide Traffic ApS).

The non-registered logo of the smaller line, World Wide Traffic (WWT), is similar to Maersk’s trademarked seven-point white star, but it differs in that it consists of three interposed stars, two of which are blue and one is white.
