Lockheed, Raytheon Join Up on Deal With 3D Printing Firm Fortify

Rival defense prime contractors Lockheed Martin and Raytheon issued their first joint venture capital investment, providing cash for additive manufacturing and material sciences company Fortify.

Fortify announced Wednesday that it raised $12.5 million in a venture round led by the two defense contractors, in addition to smaller investments from other strategic investors.

Fortify looks to solidify its aerospace and defense business and chase opportunities to expand into the broader commercial market, according to the release.
