Lockheed Escapes Suit After Patent Owner Misses Service Deadline

Lockheed Martin Corp. dodged a lawsuit concerning its short-range missile defense systems as a patent owner voluntarily dismissed its infringement allegations after a Texas federal judge noted it had missed the deadline to serve the defense company.

Omnitek Partners LLC voluntarily dismissed its case against Lockheed Martin stating the defense company didn’t file an answer or motion for summary judgment, according to a notice filed Oct. 4 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
