Licensing Firm Sisvel Has More 3G Patent Claims Trimmed by Board

An administrative tribunal dealt a European patent-licensing company another blow Tuesday when it invalidated all challenged claims of a 3G wireless connectivity patent that has been asserted in a dozen lawsuits against wireless and technology companies.

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board found that all challenged claims in Sisvel International SA’s US Patent No. 8,600,383, which helps mobile handsets constantly search for better cell coverage, are obvious in light of previous publications.
