Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. alleges in a federal lawsuit that Liberty Cablevision of Puerto Rico LLC and an affiliate company are infringing the insurance giant’s trademarks in connection with warranty services.
Liberty Mutual’s complaint, filed Friday, alleges Liberty Cablevision and Liberty Communications of Puerto Rico LLC, are infringing its “valid, subsisting, and famous” marks, which have purportedly been in use since Feb. 19, 1919. Liberty Cablevision and Liberty Communications, a Delaware limited liability company and a Puerto Rico limited liability company, allegedly use the “Liberty Protect Mark” in connection with extended warranties.
