LG Faces New Trial in $45 Million Plug-and-Play Patent Case

A New Jersey federal court ordered a new trial in a patent case that originally resulted in a $45 million jury award against LG Electronics Inc. for infringing a patent related to “plug-and-play” video from an external source to a television.

The court said Wednesday that Mondis Technology Ltd. was entitled to a new trial to determine the appropriate amount of damages.
