LG Electronics Accused of Infringing LCD Display Patents (1)

Texas-based Lonestar Crystal Display LLC sued LG Electronics Inc., accusing the Korean tech giant and its US subsidiary of infringing patents for display technology in LCD monitors and televisions.

In a complaint filed May 15 in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, Lonestar accused LG of infringing six patents: US Patent Nos. 7,714,961; 7,973,864; 8,988,644; 9,146,435; 9,383,612; and 9,952,480. The patents relate to liquid crystal display technology, including methods for preventing moisture damage, reducing afterimages, and improving display quality, the suit said.
