LG Defeats Wireless Communications Patent Claims in PTAB Win

LG Electronics and TCL Industrial Holdings Co. won an administrative challenge to a patent for a wireless local access network device Monday.

Florida-based ParkerVision, Inc. sued the companies companies in 2020 and early 2021 in federal court in Waco, Texas, for infringement of US Patent No. 7,110,444 and several related patents.

TCL, the parent company of a Chinese TV maker, then petitioned the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to have it invalidate the patent. The PTAB took the case in November 2021 and permitted LG to join as a party in April.
