Levi’s Sues ‘Green Tab’ Denim Clothing Maker Over Trademarks

Levi Strauss & Co. alleged in a lawsuit filed in California federal court that the maker of the “Green Tab” recycled denim clothing brand infringed Levi’s family of “tab” trademarks.

Levi’s, which claims to have invented the blue jean in the 1870s, said it owns a trademark for a “tab device” that is sewn into one of the structural seams of a garment. The complaint said Levi’s first used the tab mark on the rear pocket of pants in 1936.
