Lego Sues Construction Toy Maker for Trademark Infringement

Lego A/S sued a Florida company that makes lighted construction toys in Connecticut federal court for allegedly infringing its copyrights and trademarks.

Laser Pegs Ventures LLC’s figurines could be confused with Lego’s MInifigures and misuse trademarks covering Lego’s connecting “studs,” according to the May 22 complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Lego said Laser Pegs’ figurines are “strikingly similar” to the overall look and feel of its Minifigures. Laser Pegs sells the figurines through Michaels, Walmart, and Barnes & Noble, the complaint says. The complaint alleges Lego told Laser Pegs of the infringement last ...
