A business that monitors and searches trademarks claims it lost more than $1 million annually because a competitor provided legal services illegally.
LegalForce Inc., which operates under the name Trademarkia, filed an amended complaint May 17 saying its revenue fell from $1.5 million in 2012 to $455,000 in 2017 because of LegalZoom’s activities.
Trademarkia wants a federal district court to shut down LegalZoom.com Inc. under the theory that it’s practicing law without a license to practice.
