LegalForce Loses Lawfirms.com Trademark Case as Judge Blasts CEO

Online trademark shop LegalForce failed to show a “Lawfirms.com” trademark would plausibly confuse consumers while the company’s owner repeatedly undercut his own credibility, a federal judge found after a bench trial.

LegalForce RAPC Worldwide LLC primarily uses “Trademarkia” as its trade name, and offers completely different services under a distinguishable, weak mark, Judge William Alsup said Thursday in the US District Court for the Northern District California.

CEO Raj Abhyanker—who represented his company—destroyed his credibility with untrue assertions during the trial, Alsup added.
