Led Zeppelin Ducks High Court Review of ‘Stairway to Heaven’ Win

The U.S. Supreme Court won’t hear an argument that a jury should hear the recording of a song that Led Zeppelin’s hit “Stairway to Heaven” allegedly infringed.

The estate of guitarist Randy Wolfe said the famous introduction to Led Zeppelin’s song ripped off “Taurus” by his band Spirit. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled, en banc, that the band couldn’t play “Taurus” for the jury because it was only protected by the sheet music and lyrics registered as deposits with the U.S. Copyright Office.
