Mossack Fonseca Law Firm Sues Netflix for Casting as Villain (1)

Netflix Inc. was sued Oct. 15 for libel and trademark infringement by the partners of Mossack Fonseca & Co., the law firm portrayed as the villains in the company’s new movie “The Laundromat.”

The Stephen Soderbergh film “defames and portrays the Plaintiffs as ruthless uncaring lawyers who are involved in money laundering, tax evasion, bribery and/or other criminal conduct,” according to the complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut.
