Lam Seeks to Pause JSR’s Patent-Damages Suit on Chip-Making Tech

Lam Research Corp. urged a Delaware federal court to pause Inpria Corp.’s patent-infringement suit against it because a New York university’s case challenging the inventorship and ownership of the JSR Corp. unit’s asserted patents will determine Inpria’s right to sue.

Lam, a California-based supplier of machines that help create computer chips, on Tuesday filed a motion to stay Inpria’s case in the US District Court for the District of Delaware while the Research Foundation for the State University of New York’s lawsuit—filed Jan. 25—continues in a New York federal court.
