The singer Lady Gaga’s merchandise and tour promoting her recent “Mayhem” album infringe the trademark owned by the surf brand Lost, according to a new federal lawsuit.

T-shirts and other clothing sold by Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known as Lady Gaga, bear a “nearly identical design” of the word “mayhem” as Lost International LLC’s uses on its own products, according to a complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
