Labcorp $4.7 million DNA Sequence Patent Verdict Axed on Appeal

The Federal Circuit wiped out a $4.7 million patent infringement verdict for Laboratory Corp. and its business unit Labcorp in a case involving patented technology for DNA sequencing.

A federal jury in Delaware issued the verdict in August 2021 based on Qiagen Sciences LLC’s purported infringement of US Patent Nos. 10,017,810 and 10,450,597, and a judge in the state rejected a year later Qiagen’s post-trial motions for retrial and outright dismissal.
