L.A. Guns Founder Sues Former Drummer for Trademark Infringement

L.A. Guns’s founding guitarist Tracii Guns sued his former drummer Steve Riley in Los Angeles federal court for allegedly infringing the band’s trademark by touring under the “L.A. Guns” name.

Riley also wrongly registered the band’s trademark in his name and misappropriated royalties, the Jan. 9 complaint said.

Tracii Guns founded L.A. Guns in 1983, which combined with the band Hollywood Rose in 1984 to create Guns N’ Roses. Guns reformed L.A. Guns in 1985 after a falling out with Axl Rose.
