Kyocera’s Nail-Gun Fight With Koki Sent Back to Trade Agency

The International Trade Commission must reconsider a patent-infringement case Kyocera filed against Koki Holdings over a gas-spring nailer, a U.S. appeals court ruled Friday.

  • The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit cited several errors, including allowing any of the testimony of a witness who didn’t have enough experience to be listed as an expert in power nailers and the definitions of key patent terms related to the nailers
