Kurin Inc. owes Magnolia Medical Technologies Inc. over $2 million in patent-infringement damages, a federal jury in Delaware decided Thursday after finding earlier this week that Kurin’s collection sets for blood-infection tests violate Magnolia’s patent for medical devices used in blood draws.
The jury deliberated for about three hours before awarding $2.1 million in damages for infringement that occurred between March 2019 and July 2020, an attorney for Magnolia told Bloomberg Law.
The amount could rise by another $9 to $10 million once sales data from 2020 through the present is factored in, as well as the reasonable per-unit royalty ...
