Krafton Sues Apple, Google Over ‘Battlegrounds’ Game Copyright

Video game maker Krafton Inc. alleges that Sea Ltd. and its Garena entertainment unit copied many aspects of Krafton’s popular PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds game in two mobile apps, and that Apple Inc., Google LLC, and YouTube LLC also “blatantly” infringe the copyright.

Apple and Google distribute Garena’s Free Fire and Free Fire Max apps through downloads, Krafton says in the complaint, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
