Koru Suit Says Ex-CEO’s Insider Info Built Rival’s Infusion Tech

Innovative Health Sciences LLC built its Insignis syringe infusion system using insider knowledge from a former Koru Medical Systems Inc. executive, infringing Koru’s patent for safely controlling the flow rate of therapeutic fluids to patients, a federal lawsuit said.

Koru alleges IHS’ system infringes US Patent No. 10,709,839, which covers a precision variable-flow-rate infusion system and “methods of providing, calibrating and using” it, according to a complaint filed Dec. 31 in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. IHS didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
