The owner of Kiwi Farms, a web forum notorious for coordinating online harassment campaigns, asked the US Supreme Court to review a decision finding the site could be liable for hosting a copyrighted book without permission from the author.
Joshua Moon, who launched the controversial site in 2013, argued in the high court petition that an opinion last year from the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit “grossly exceeds” existing standards for contributory copyright infringement, which will undermine free speech.
