King & Spalding Says Techiya Didn’t Pay Bills in Samsung Dispute

A Texas federal judge gave Staton Techiya LLC a month to find new counsel after King & Spalding LLP said they wish to withdraw due to unpaid legal fees in the patent dispute against Samsung Electronics Co.

Techiya can’t appear in federal court without an attorney, Magistrate Judge Roy Payne of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said in a Nov. 15 order instructing the firm to find new counsel by Dec. 17, or a hearing will be held that day.
