Kia, Hyundai Seek to Block Imports of Aftermarket Headlights (1)

Kia and Hyundai filed near identical U.S. trade complaints seeking to block imports of rival aftermarket taillights and headlights that they say “slavishly copied” the companies’ “elegant and distinctive headlamp and taillamp designs.”

  • The complaints filed in the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington name TYC Brother Industrial and its Genera unit, and LKQ and its Keystone Automotive Industries unit
  • The companies are selling replacement parts made in Asia that copy designs covered by 20 different patents for vehicles including the Sportage, Sorento and Forte, Kia said in the ...
