Khashoggi’s Widow Sues Spyware Maker NSO Over Hacked Devices (2)

The widow of murdered Washington Post contributing columnist Jamal Khashoggi is suing spyware maker NSO Group, alleging that her phones had been infiltrated in the lead-up to his kidnapping.

Hanan Elatr Khashoggi’s phones “were transformed into handheld spies” using NSO’s technology, according to her complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. The complaint claims violation of the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act, a federal anti-hacking law.

A NSO spokesperson said the company hasn’t received a copy of the lawsuit yet and “will respond accordingly in the relevant channels.” The company says its spyware ...
