Keysight Survives Appellate Bid Over Trade Agency Patent Ruling

Keysight Technologies Inc.convinced the Federal Circuit not to overturn a trade agency ruling that cleared the network security company of charges it infringed a patent owned by Centripetal Networks LLC.

Centripetal’s appellate brief didn’t squarely address whether Keysight’s network traffic monitoring and security enforcement computer equipment infringed two limitations in Centripetal’s US Patent No. 9,264,370, Senior Judge Evan J. Wallach said in an opinion Thursday for the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. As a result, Centripetal waived any challenge to the US International Trade Commission’s finding of non-infringement.
