Justices Decline to Weigh ‘Comedians in Cars’ Copyright Dispute

The U.S. Supreme Court said Monday it won’t hear an appeal of Jerry Seinfeld’s win in a case against Christian Charles, who claimed ownership of copyrights related to Seinfeld’s “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” series.

Seinfeld has worked with Charles since the 1990s. Charles said he initially suggested the idea of “a television show based on the concept of two friends talking and driving,” and his production company shot a pilot of “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee” with Seinfeld in 2011.
