Jury’s $234M Verdict for Apple Patent Infringement Upheld

A jury’s $234 million award for infringement by Apple Inc.’s phones of a patent on a computer chip performance improvement was upheld June 6 by a federal judge—almost 21 months after trial (Wis. Alumni Research Found. v. Apple, Inc., 2017 BL 190317, W.D. Wis., 14-cv-062-wmc, 6/6/17).

Apple had challenged “virtually every aspect of the jury’s verdicts, and myriad decisions made both before and during the trial by the court,” Judge William M.
