A California federal judge indicated it may be too early to dismiss an adult-film company’s lawsuit accusing Meta Platforms Inc. of training AI models on copyright-protected videos.

While Meta argues Strike 3 Holdings’ evidence is too weak to hold the tech giant liable for infringing downloads, Strike 3’s “many pages” of exhibits show the purported copying could “arguably go beyond mere coincidence,” Judge Eumi K. Lee said during a Wednesday hearing in San Jose, Calif.
