Judge Lifts Stay in Patent Infringement Case Against Intuit

Samesurf Inc.'s suit alleging Intuit Inc. infringed its patented co-browsing technology in TurboTax, QuickBooks, and other online products will resume after a federal judge stayed the case last June.

The Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the US Patent and Trademark Office began proceedings in June last year on Intuit’s petitions challenging Samesurf’s infringement claims brought in its 2022 complaint. The US District Court for the Southern District of California then granted the parties’ joint motion to stay Samesurf’s suit while the PTAB reviewed the claims.
