OpenAI Blocked From Using ‘IO’ Mark After Tech Firm Sues (1)

A judge temporarily blocked OpenAI Inc. from using the “io” monicker of a hardware company it acquired after a wearable audio-device maker accused the AI giant of trademark infringement.

Judge Trina L. Thompson granted IYO Inc.'s request for a temporary restraining order, according to an order filed June 20 in the US District Court for the Northern District of California. Following the order, OpenAI removed a video and other promotional materials about the partnership with former Apple Inc. chief designer Jony Ive were taken down from the company’s website.
